Besides Eficiens' efforts to minimize its CO² emissions, we are proud to witness that our clients' green IT projects and products are becoming increasingly important also meaning that we are managing more campaigns on the topic.
For instance, WMware recently entrusted us with the promotion of its website: www.vertualiser.wordpress.com . Created by a group of leading IT players (Accenture, APC, Cisco, EMC and VMware), it aims at gathering their knowledge on green IT to help computer decision-makers understanding green IT stakes. We can find on this website several computers environmental impact studies, green IT news, testimonies, tests and advices, links to main websites for regulations texts...
We also manage the search engine promotion of AMD Opteron processors, known for their low carbon footprint, and some of Alcatel-Lucent solutions.
Green IT campaigns are not new to Eficiens as they were at the heart of our NEC computers server messaging for years.
The green IT concept was born in 1992 in the USA but the massive carbon footprint of the computing sector was pointed out since 2000. Nowdays, buyers are more and more sensitive to the environmental impact of the products they buy and are keen to reduce their day-to-day energy consumption. This trend can be illustrated by the graphics below, showing the increasing number of searches for "Green IT" keywords across the globe.
